MOT Testing

An MOT is the one check your car legally can't go without, and it's worth having it done by people who do it day in, day out. Forge M.O.T & Tyres has been an authorised testing station on Church Street since 2000, and over that time we've tested just about every make and model that's come through Burnley.

We hold DVSA authorisation for Class 4 tests, which covers the vast majority of vehicles on the road:

• Cars, including three-wheeled vehicles over 450 kg unladen
• Taxis, minibuses and ambulances with up to 12 passenger seats
• Goods vehicles up to 3,000 kg design gross weight
• Motor caravans and dual-purpose vehicles

What happens on the day

Drop your car with us and our tester works through the official DVSA checklist — lights, brakes, steering, suspension, tyres, emissions, seatbelts, screen and wipers, and the structure of the car itself. Nothing is touched or charged for beyond the test unless you ask us to. If something fails, we'll show you exactly what and why, in plain English, and give you an honest price before any work starts.

Failed your MOT? We can usually fix it here

Because we're a full repair garage as well as a test centre, most failures can be sorted on site — no towing your car across town to a second garage. Where the work qualifies, a partial retest is free.
